Are the missing items in your household inventory? I have had this happen if I leave 'move objects on' then change lots or renovate the house. It happens with some CC items the most. I finally had to delete those items because of this problem because I have all the cheats activated through MCCC. If you placed those items using 'move objects' turned on, turn it off before you travel to another location or do any renovations and see if that helps.
