Learned English on Planet Sixam?

While playing The Sims 4, I've noticed quite a number of typos and grammatical errors. I just found a new one today. The Bored Moodlet "Where's the Party At?" says my Sim has a "deep seeded need to dance". There's no such thing as "deep seeded". The correct term is "deep-seated". Sometimes I wonder if the proofreaders at Maxis didn't learn English on an alien planet...

  • It happens sometimes. I remember when "mischievous" was pronounced incorrectly on one of the Cats and Dogs trailers. I'm guessing the gaming industry doesn't hire very many proofreaders or grammar experts. But I like to think it's just a bit of "Simlish" coming through. :p
  • Any game with a fair amount of text has grammatical errors and misspelled words.
  • @LiELF - Funny. I like the way you think. Maybe you're on the right track. Perhaps it's a case of Simlish Overexposure. :P
  • There is a thread over at AHQ for Text errors:

  • Good to know. Thanks. I do want to clarify that this isn't intended to be an overly serious thread. I'm just noting and observation and taking the mickey out of the folks at Maxis a bit. All in good fun.
