So this is my first time playing with sims 4 (I held off on jumping on this bandwagon as long as I could) and I'm starting out by playing the basic legacy challenge as a kind of play through to figure things out. Well, I just got seasons and the lottery holiday(?) came up. Figuring why not I went ahead and bought a ticket and now my first gen family has won a million simoleons. Now I'm torn between continuing with this family as the challenge of slowly building up a mega house and all the fun is gone. Honestly I was having fun trying to save up money for the bills each week, or continue on and try to reach the ten generation mark and see how much simoleons build up from there. So what do you all think? Is the challenge pretty much gone or should I just continue on and see what happens?

You can use a money cheat to delete the funds. It ismoney {number}Where I have {number} just put the amount you want for the household funds.

I’d keep going, and do whatever you want with the money. You could upgrade your house, use it to pay bills, or as @LaBlue0314 said you can always delete the money with cheats. After all, it’s your game and you should do what you feel comfortable with (If you do delete the money, I would suggest you keep just a little bit though! ?)

If you build a mega house, but do not have the money making skills to support it, utilities will get cut soon, so there'll be some challenge left.I'd pretend my family hasn't won all the money in cash, but in form of education funds and similar perks that future generations get to profit from. I suggest to delete the money for now, enjoy the from-the-grounds up playstyle and bring in small portions of the million whenever you feel comfortable to do so.

If you're following the official rules, you aren't allowed to enter the lottery, so I would just cheat the money away and ignore the holiday in the future. If you're not, then you can do whatever you want with it. Maybe donate it all away or use it to better the family's life.

Your Sims are so lucky! I always want my Sims to win the lottery... :D But, they're so unlucky..Maybe you can continue playing with it... and change the initial challenge into "Rich to Rag/Poor legacy challenge... and see, how far (generations) can your Sims family living without working and just paying bills with the money.. and then later on, you could start playing the normal legacy challenge..

I decided to build the house I wanted originally, nothing extravagant, just a large family home and save the rest for whatever else may come up.

I would just suggest using it however you like or maybe starting another family in the same save and having offspring of both families getting married so you are still involved with that family but play with the other one if you want the challenge aspect!

Might be time to switch from Legacy Challenge to Brewster's Millions challenge. Set yourself a deadline(like one season's length of time) to spend all of the money, with no assets left at the end other than what you had before the lottery win, as those would count towards your family's value. There are a number of ways to spend simoleons on things other than items and building. Hire all the services. Donate to charities. Go out to dinner every night. Marry off the kids to other households with their pockets full of loot. If you manage to pull it off, you get to give yourself a big pat on the back.
