I think (or hope) when Witches are introduced their magic will be as in-depth as all the Vampire abilities. Maybe once we get pets they'll be able to so something clever like having a familiar?
I also hope we'll get tons of witchy stuff. We have some already from Spooky Stuff and some of Vampires counts if you want your witch to be a Goth, but I figure that some creepy hovel stuff would be appropriate as another addition. Lots of clothes would be great too.
Personally I don't mind what we get next - some people say witches, some people say Werewolves, some say Fairies, so who knows?
I really don't know if witches will get an alternate. Will it even be possible to be born as a witch, or will you need to learn? Maybe they'll get an aura of some kind?
