I imagine that, like the club system, it's going to be something that only the more creative players will appreciate as opposed to those who prefer to have every possibility laid out in front of them
I disagree with that, I consider myself a creative player, I hate linear game play in the sims 4 and think it has no place. Things like checklists in the active careers, the game giving my sims a daily task that must be completed to gain promotion and aspirations which are linear and force the player to complete tasks in order to complete their aspiration.
No offence to anyone who loves the above.
My point is for me assuming this will stop sims phoning with dates/to hang out at inappropriate times, with the little information we know already about the calander I don’t think it would make a difference to my playstyle. If it’s Saturday in my game and I want to go in a date on Monday I decide to do that. The only difference is under the new way I mark it on a calendar? The traditions to be completed sounds like a checklist to me.
I’m also like JoAnne, I like playing and just going with the flow, not scheduling every detail of my sims lives and just seeing where the game takes me, granted that doesn’t work as well in this version of the game.
To be honest for me it rather feels like fencing in my creativity, not catering it. But that’s the charm of Sims, players manage to find so many different ways to express their creativity and what’s a source of creativity for one is a nuisance for the next (and vv).
