I don't think anyone was basing that on anything Maxis said, it was more to do with those that attending Sims Camp calling this new feature huge and game changing. I think we have strayed very far from the original concept of this game being about Smarter and Weirder Sims, many were hoping it would be an improvement to the Sims themselves.
Anyway, I think this feature is quite cool, I can't see myself using it
that much but I will definitely be trying it out.
