Life and Death Negative thread

The psychic career is a sham in this EP! That is too bad because this was my selling point. The psychic career is more fleshed out in Sims 3 then in this 10+ yr old dinosaur of a game👀

This EP feels like a base game update that should have been free including the world. 10 yr Anniversary...what happened to that celebration...? 😶we need freebees starting with this EP. 😂 😀

I'm a meat eater.  When I shop for meat, I want the best quality locally sourced products. Farms in my area sell good quality meat.

When I play a game, I want the best quality upgraded products. Don't sell me products that are dressed up and outdated because the base engine couldn't handle it 9 yrs ago.

I want fresh gameplay, new gameplay...This new EP is basic gameplay fixing the base game that has been lacking since the beginning.

Not impressed with EA at all. 🙂

These points are very small but I'm a little disappointed by the ghost cowplant :

• No ghost color selector
• No new essence : Essence of Fear emotion is still missing. A missed opportunity to extract things for ghost sims and grimterms

I heard that there will be no snow in the new world? If so I was wondering if we can still use the weather machine??

It's a good pack so far, but I have a few complaints.

• Why can't kids gather tarot cards or venture into crypts? I get not being able to do the quests, but they can't even search the podiums? They can't even venture into crypts, even though those are just rabbit holes?
• The festivals, at least the family festival. We've had festivals for eight years, and they're still bad. What can you even do here? You look for frogs, play chess, eat food, play on playground equipment... Basically what you can do anywhere, any time. You can ask the crow lady about stuff, but she seems to just provide basic info the game already provides you about crows. The will lady doesn't add much, either. The specters are too busy for me to talk to them, and when they're finally free, they just float around and my sim can't get a hold of them. 
• The bucket list system doesn't let you choose specific goals, and if you want to remove a pre-determined goal you don't like, you have to scrap your entire list. I'm glad cheats let you choose your own goals. 
• I wish the new wallpapers had more blue swatches. Only one of them had a blue swatch, and it looked really good. The other two didn't. It doesn't help that the colors for some of the swatches are too similar, to the point where differences are barely noticeable. 

Really hoping the Celebration of Life festival was broken in my game. Because when I loaded into it, it was just a single stage with a single picture so you can mourn one sim. Also some people dressed up as bird. They didn't even have a podium for speeches, or things to do. They didn't even put it in a space with a lot of room so you can properly grieve with a crowd. How is this a festival? How is this a celebration, when it's just a half-baked funeral? Heck, there's a graveyard right there, and it's fully decked out for funerals already, every single day.

Next, I hate some of the clothes for men. They've had this issue with the past few packs, where so many of the male clothes are bulky and don't show the sim's shape well. They all look bloated. Not everything has to be form-fitting, but we've been getting more and more of these looks.

And these are just the tamer examples, and still better than 98% of Lovestruck's oversized clothes. I like having bulky clothes, but I feel like the balance is really off.

I don't mind the two outfits that you posted for NPC use. I always have an issue with the men's pants in this game. I just don't like how they fit the male sim body. I want the hem ankle length to be longer and cover the the whole ankle. 🙄🙂

The gardening plant evolve now works. Steam has downloaded 4 patches since I installed this pack.

You can't put any items on the bathroom sink. 

Just a small critique, but I’m not a fan of how completing a bucket list goal gives you a whole level on the Soul's Journey meter—it’s just too much. Other systems counting toward it should be fined-tuned too, completing a Want gives virtually no progress. I thought the progression here would be incremental, like the fame system, where you’d need more 'points' to go from level 2 to 3 than from level 1 to 2, and so on. Instead, it seems to be the same amount for each step. 

Now to wait for a mod to adjust the progress given for each feature in this new system. I love the concept on paper, but being able to complete it so quickly undermines it. It should be a bit harder to finish (like, a whole Sim life, and not a few sim days as a young adult), and setbacks, like starting a fire, losing a job, or other "bad" life events, should decrease the meter, similar to previous game systems.

This is a general issue with TS4: the game feels too easy and forgiving. The gameplay systems with benefits tied to them only move up, and there’s no ‘punishment’ for making your sim’s life challenging. So, no matter how miserable your sim is, they still get the same benefits compared to a Sim with the most perfect life, which feels a bit off.

The game just got easier with Ghosts as a whole life stage. This new life stage is great imo, but now, keeping your Sim alive isn't the priority anymore. I do have to admit though, this drastic shift in the gameplay experience is a really welcome thing, but it should have come with new stakes and things to fear/actively avoid. 

Lore negative points (New game) :

• Nyon Specter isn't the son of Grim Reaper (Not in the family tree and Grimborn trait is missing despite the birthmark)
• Nyon and Olive Specter never met Grim Reaper
• The previous husband ghosts of Olive are missing.

The level of detail is less deep as The Sims 2 used to be.
