- Sharooonia5 years agoNew SpectatorThey make my sims miserable. I’m not exactly one to want them perfectly happy and cheerful all the time or anything but honestly the negative moodlets from lifestyles are just bad. They’re almost constant and dominate all the other emotions.
- My Sim just got the outdoorsy lifestyle. It's fine except she literally develops bored moodlets within just a few hours of being inside. So if she comes home, takes a bath, showers, and makes dinner - by the time dinner is finished she is bored. I think I just have to get used to letting her be bored sometimes rather than trying to keep things ideal all of the time.
- I've turned them off as well. My Sims always get workaholic one which basically means they are tense all the time when they aren't that work and it's so hard to override that with a different emotion. So they can't work on their skills because they are too tense. I got the carefree trait but it doesn't seem to work with the lifestyles? So as much as I enjoy the idea of it, it's not as fun in reality.
- Beardedgeek725 years agoNew SpectatorSeems to me that they are basically doing what some mods do, they create longer-lasting behavior-based moodlets. Of course depending on what you do... they can be easier or harder to obtain in the first place. My Sims live in Sulani and swim a lot so both got Energetic and Outdoorsy Lifestyles. Both also host a lot of yard sales, so both got People Person.
This means my two Sims have three Lifestyles that are identical. The fourth lifestyle... my one Sim that learns Robotics and do most of the upgrades and repairs has gotten the Techie Lifestyle. The other has never managed to get a fourth lifestyle yet after tens of hours; I guess she doesn't do anything distinct enough to give a lifestyle. "musteni;c-17728731" wrote:

As a rotational player, none of my Sims have gotten any.
How often do you rotate and have you already rotated back to the households to continue their progress?
I'm a rotational player too. I play each family full week and switch household around 5 in the morning on Sunday. So far I've played 4 families in rotation after I've bought Snowy Escape and though sometimes I've got notifications that sim is working on lifestyle and reach his action limit for a day none of my sims developed any in the end. And judging from what I've read here I do not mind.- I don't mind the lifestyles, in fact they make The Sims that much closer to being RL like. My problem with lifestyles is there negative effects are happing much to fast. It's to the point that if I don't keep doing things that satisfy any of the lifestyles. Then my sims will constantly be unhappy all the time.

I think the bug with multiple lifestyles requires a sim to start working on many before you actually get some - if you had any progress on them, they'll continue (all the way to activating) even if you're full. But if you had just 3 in progress, it won't let you start fourth.
