Did not watch the full video since I'm about to head to bed and it probably answers my question, but I figured I'd ask anyway - what does everyone love so much about generations? I never had that pack when I played the sims 3 and was just wondering what exactly it adds to the game!
I actually don't think it was that great... It added a lot of little things that were nice like events for teens and learning to drive, but it was also annoying because it took away a lot of players' autonomy and made parent sims discipline their children and enforced curfews.
I never really liked that pack much, I guess partially because I knew everybody loves it and had very high expectations. Some stuff was cute, but most didn't seem to change much in the game. The things I remember the most was the boarding schools (which were a fun idea, but as a family player I just didn't like to send my kids away for good), the canes making Sims so slow that I just never used them, because I had no patience, and how weird/buggy grounding a child was - a grounded kid couldn't go to school without making their parent mad (making the kid grounded for even longer), which seems counterintuitive in the first place, but then they'd obviously also get mad if the kid had worse grades... from not going to school.
I actually like the values system in Parenthood much more than I liked anything in Generations, and I'm not a huge fan of Sims 4. If Parenthood had more new stuff in it, it would basically be the Sims 4 version of Generations.
