I have a question but not sure if it can be answered. So, I played week one of the event with a test sim because of the update & found that she had a smartphone in her inventory that was provided by the event according to Crinrict. Now I want to play the last three weeks of the event with my regular sim. Anyone know if the game will give him a smartphone in his inventory when I play him for those weeks? Don't want to not be able to complete any future tasks that might require that phone. Thanks!
When I played with my sim, I kept noticing the phone in his inventory. I thought it was a bug so I either sold it or put it through the recycle machine every time he got the phone. The game kept replacing the phone when ever I got rid of it. I don't know why the game kept replacing it, since it did the same thing our sim's phones already do, when we click on the phone tab to the left of the calendar at the bottom of our screen.
So I assume if you need it the game will put it in your inventory on any sim that is used to continue playing the event. Though I never used it in the sim's inventory. When I needed to use the phone I clicked on the phone tab at the bottom of the screen and didn't use it from his inventory.
djsboonie I believe that the game will give your regular sim the phone, since tasks can be completed by switching to other saves. (I had to do this because I did not have a Willow Creek Library in my main save and I was able to complete the library task on a new save and switch back.) I think that the inventory phone is the same kind of item as the documents we've had in past events that would generate automatically if your active sim didn't have it.
I can't say for sure, but I think it's how it all works from what I've seen.
