There should've been alternatives to deal with the noisy neighbors opposed to always getting up and bashing on their door/leaving notes for them.
I don't know if noisy neighbors were that big of a deal in previous iterations, it doesn't seem like it at least. They'd be noisy like once or twice and usually making them stop would mean they stop for a while.
