So the thrifty buyer can be sure to purchase the entire Game Pack, complete with it's 11 lots, mysterious apocalyptic adventure theme, new town, unique selection of build/buy, new career, aspiration, new trait, collection of CAS items, laptops and other gameplay objects, and entire interactive storyline with an immersive experience,
First you try to lecture me about objectivity and then you add all these subjective qualifiers? You may consider the story immersive, the selection of build/buy unique and the adventure theme mystererious (even though it combines three well-known tropes), but those qualifiers undermine your argument because a lot of people may disagree. It sounds more like a sales pitch rather than an objective list of features.
You cannot count the aspiration and story as two separate things. They're designed to work in conjuction. The aspiration is a list of what you have to do to go through the story."LiELF;c-16978315" wrote:
not to mention the practicality that the world connects to other Sims 4 worlds, and everything but the story can be used with other parts of the game for replayability... all for the low price of $10 during the right sale. That sounds completely reasonable to me. But feel free to go ahead and enjoy your overpriced world that needs mods to run properly.
If you're going to use the practicality that the world connects to other Sims 4 worlds, I can use the practicality of The Sims 3 open world and the fact you can explore the whole world without loading screens. I'm going to also use the fact that this world has more lots than all Sims worlds combined except City Living. And I'm also going to use the practicality of being able to ADD more lots in The Sims 3 so the world can potentially have as many lots as empty routable terrain exist."LiELF;c-16978315" wrote:
I did not like Sims 3. It was unplayable for me, and I'm not even referring to the performance. I still to this day think that its open worlds are way overrated and it sacrificed too much for that one thing.
Who cares. I didn't give my personal opinion. I said that if we consider the FEATURES The Sims 3 provides to players, it is objectively better in most aspects. It doesn't matter if you didn't like the game. Tell me exactly what does The Sims 4 offers in terms of features (not content) to make it better than The Sims 3. That you can go to any world at any time? That you can move/save rooms and buildings? That you can multitask sometimes? I'll be waiting for you to list me all the amazing features The Sims 4 has that makes it better.
Of course I added subjective qualifiers, that was the whole point of my post. As did you, but you're still trying to pass your opinion off as objective fact. Simply stating you are being objective does not make it so. And no, I'm not listing anything for you (although I could) because first, I can see that you can't be objective to begin with, and second, that actually strays from the topic that you chose. And no matter what point you think you can make, Sims 3 is not "objectively" better than Sims 4. That is coming from your personal preference and opinion, so it is subjective . The reason it cannot be objective is simply because too many factors depend on the personal preferences and priorities of the player, so there is no static "right" or "wrong". You see?
You wanted to compare a world of your choosing from Sims 3 to a world of your choosing from Sims 4. You chose poorly and without fair comparison or proper equivalency. It exemplifies personal bias because your argument is skewed to your own subjective opinion. It was merely an attempt to manipulate perspective in your favor. And not for nothing, but if you have to manipulate the perspective, then it's not a very solid argument.
