It’d be more fair to compare Del Sol Valley to Lucky Palms since they’re both supposed to be EP sized worlds.
Lucky Palms was a Store world, it didn’t come with an EP. Besides, it didn’t work like that for Sims 3. There are EP worlds, Store worlds and custom made worlds. Sims 4 has EP worlds and GP worlds/neighbourhoods.
Also, I get a little sad when people bring in the ‘ugly graphics argument’. Not so much because I couldn’t disagree more - I realize that’s personal taste, I love the LP pictures shown, can’t help it - but rather because oh dear, are we really using that as an argument here? The graphics of the 2009 game are so much worse than the graphics in the 2014 version? One at least could expect thát (and unfortunately there are quite a few examples where it’s not the case oddly enough). They’re also not the subject here, so basing a post on just that is derailing. The OP is not comparing graphics, they are comparing detail and world size/amount of lots. Of course you can compare that. Didn’t SimCity players compare the size of the worlds in the old and the new game too and didn’t they have a very good point doing so?
