The bold part is factually incorrect. Using the in-game "Move to a different neighborhood" interaction allows to move your family to another world and KEEP your ties/relationships. In fact, all Sims your family know are protected, so you can invite them to stay at your house as foreign visitor and even ask them to move in (and then move them to another house if you want).

There are custom worlds which have over 180 lots (Alpine County). Or even really small worlds with 125 lots very close together (Plymouth Isle). Furthermore, you can place your own lots, so nothing is stopping you from bulldozing some 64x64 lots and replacing them with four 16x16 lots if you choose so. In the case of Lucky Palms it can fit at least 30 or more lots of various sizes connected to roads.
I agree as I am not proud to pay for extra space when in the past I did not have to pay for it as it was optional. However this an new generation that is here and EA/Maxis is taking avantage of it.
As to expense of them both, I spent a fortune on buying computers that could play the previous iteration. It still has problems on my gaming laptop and still needs using mods. Sims 4 I can even play on my small laptop (with video card) on a train journey or taking away on holiday.
All the games have pluses and minuses. I enjoyed all of them, especially 2. That was a golden time for me with cc, Maxis' and others' programs to sort problems out and the general optimism in the forums. I hope EA/Maxis keeps the best of all of them for a possible 5.
Maybe a thread somewhere else (R&S)? about what one would want in a perfect Sims 5 game?
Isn't about time these comparisons came to an end and we each enjoyed the game we like? How much would EA charge for Lucky Palms if it was released today? They daren't try to change the old Simoleon prices from pre 2013 to today's. The cost of living has risen a lot and not comparable.
