Managing needs help!

Hey all, I’ve just started playing the console version.
I made a single Sim and after getting to know the locals.. she wound up pregnant by Don Lothario ;)
She’s a painter and she stays at home anyways so I didn’t think it would be a problem, she could totally handle one kid on her own so I didn’t move Don in.
Then she had twins. :|
As babies they weren’t so bad, but now the little demons are toddlers and they are hell. I am struggling to keep all of their needs halfway decent meanwhile it seems like every single night these kids are having nightmares and keep waking up?? And it takes forever for the energy bar to fill up on these tots. Let’s not forget the ever so fun and lovely tantrums and messes! Times two. :s :s
Is there any tips to make this easier?! It would be so appreciated!
  • Someone mentioned on another thread that there are nightlights, from the Parenthood GP, that are supposed to stop the monster under the bed from appearing. It would be worth a try. Also, hiring a nanny can help a lot.
  • I had three toddlers once, which was holy hell, my tips are to:
    1. Make some sort of schedule: dinner at 6:00, bed at 8:00..etc.
    2. Ditch the high chair. It sucks. Just pull a meal out of the fridge and have your toddlers grab a serving.
    3. Read your toddlers to sleep!! They won’t have nightmares. Sure, it takes longer but at least all your sims all well-rested the next morning.
    4. Level up your potty skill and movement skill as soon as you can, so they can go to the bathroom by themselves and climb the stairs.
  • When the toddlers are old enough, make them share a double bed as there are never any monsters under a double bed, I promise this works 100% of the time.
