- Updating now, it will take long for all modders to catch up with this huge patch anyway.
- atreya332 years agoSeasoned AceIt was a scary start. I also had an empty library. Restarting the EA app worked. For the past two weeks I need to restart the app at least once every time I want to play sims so I am used to it by now. I was even able to go into offline mode and open my existing save without the patch one last time before updating.
I am downloading the patch as we speak. I hope I won't regret updating my game over the next few days but I just don't want to wait any longer for infants. I created an entire new sims folder in my documents to start a temporary vanilla game until mccc is updated. Unfortunately creating a new sims 4 folder means I now first have to figure out how to get rid of the Emily person. - SimplyJen2 years agoRising SpectatorI decided to take a break when everyone was forced to switch to the EA app permanently just a few weeks ago. Now I'll wait another day or two for servers to chill. I'd like to give mod updates a chance to be ready for GT anyway.
At least on console I don't have anything to lose while I wait for PC.
Sorry to all those having so many issues. Origin had its fair share of bogged down servers and it wasn't perfect either but nothing this bad with so many issues on top of it. It's a shame really. :( - nh66502 years agoRising RookieIt is downloading finally!. I'm happy. But its already past midnight so I'll probably have to play tomorrow.
- Reddestiny9212 years agoSeasoned AceI am not sure what did it, restarting the app, reloading the page, or verifying game files on steam(my sims games temporarily had to be split before) but playing now and will wait for crashing okay so far.
- paigeisin52 years agoNew SpectatorI was able to launch the app after four attempts. But I wasn't trying to download the infant update. I just wanted to do some work on my new GT save. Now the app is giving me the 'you're offline' message every few minutes. Yeah, I know I am offline, app. Please mind your own business and give those other players their infant update! And let me play in my little corner where I ask for nothing more than to be left alone. First, I was forced into using this app and now it acts as if I no longer have the option to temporarily put off updating. I've been using the app for about two weeks now and already I am tired of the log in fails, the disappearing library and the annoying reminders I am offline. And the worst part is we'll have to do this all over again on the 16th. :s
- DragonAge_3009052 years agoSeasoned TravelerI spent an hour trying to login, gave up and turned off my computer. I went out for an hour, came back, turned on my computer. Then I was able to login and update the game.
- I had to redownload Origin in order to download the update. The EAapp definitely wasn’t working at all. Took me almost two hours to get into my account and when I did, couldn’t update, kept throwing 505 errors. I downloaded Origin again, ignored the prompt to switch to the EAapp and let Origin down the update in the background.
- netney522 years agoNew SpectatorIs the app working yet? I have even bothered trying to update my game. If it’s not I think I’ll try it tomorrow and hopefully whatever the issues are have been fixed.
