Maxis going in wrong direction with expansion pack gameplay?

At first I was really excited for Snowy Escape mostly because of the setting/I grew up in Fernie, BC basically a ski resort town. Plus I love anime so it just works for me until I realized what lost ...

I know it takes a lot of work to make the game and content, and I'm sorry, it's not to be mean or disrespectful towards the makers of TS4, but there could have been much more... There's just something missing. The worlds and the music are beautiful, but none of the packs add much to gameplay. While their facial expressions are much better than they are in the previous Sim games and so is CAS, their moods and their personalities are too standard.
