Maxis, I Want To Talk To You About Representation.
Each time I read some news about this game (TS4) and or even a newer, future game, I read a lot about how important it is to have diversity and representation. Yes, I would agree. However, Maxis, do you even realize how much time and effort you are putting into TS4 to make the LBGTQ community happy? It's almost to the point that every update or news and or new patch or whatever it may be, is all about the community and all others ignored.
I know for a fact, I'm not the only one starting to see this and or feel this way. While representation in a game is important and makes people feel included into a realm of gaming, isn't it just another form of gameplay? Hear me out about that.
While the game franchise has included all types of gamers such as builders, story tellers, cc creators, script modders, and those who play to play the game, rather than tell a story, isn't representation (Simself) also a form of gameplay?
Not many people I have known in the past twenty years in the Simming Community play their Simselves. Some of us find that type of gameplay too close for comfort, after all it would be weird for the deviant player I might be sometimes, to aggravate my Simself, and or my parent or my siblings etc. But how I play sometimes (deviant) is just another way to play.
Isn't representation just another way to play, too? It's starting to seem like that is the only type of gaming that is getting much special attention. If you look back over the last few years, that community that requires a great deal of content and attention seem to be getting very special attention and content much more often and special Twitch videos and patches, and updates, etc. etc.
What other groups are you promoting in special patches, and updates and live videos etc.? None that I have seen in the past few years.
You may think it's odd I would write this feedback, but really take a good hard look, what other types of events, parades, diversity, (diversity of thought matters, too, not just skin types) have you been working on, and or trying to bring to the game that has nothing at all to do with gender neutral pronouns and or the LGBTQ community or diverse skin tones? I'm really perplexed by all the special attention some seem to get in content while other type players don't seem to be heard at all. Which other types of classes of people are you planning to celebrate every year and flood with special patches and updates and celebrate all the time? Many others are starting to feel excluded from any special patches and or updates and or left out altogether. I'm not being flipped, I'm being real. Just ask anyone on the street.
