Did any other group of people like the disabled get anything these past seven years? It's not been just a flag in Simlish but an announcement to the world. Has any other group been so supported? It's not a matter of getting over something. It's a matter of seeing how representation has taken over the focus and marketed as if it includes everyone when it doesn't. It's not just a flag and some shirts. It was a huge gender patch, it was the outcry to make premades in the trailers and in the game and put them in homes, it's been about removing personal pronouns and replacing with gender neutral pronouns, it's been about the ability of a biological male to become pregnant, to change clothing to unisex, but also any of the other clothes worn by any body frame, or gender, it's been about many interviews expressing they are still working on the game to improve things in all those areas and or add even more, but not one word about any other people. Other than recently when they finally tried to improve skin tones which btw skin tones were always bad for the last twenty years for people of color in all the games. It's been about events, and promotions, etc. etc.
If the game is about Simself, ok, that's all great, right? But where is the content for the other people? and their promotions etc. etc. When Maxis says Simself, what most think is the ability to create a transgender person, and or gay or lesbian and or non binary person etc. The requests keep going and if we were all honest, nothing for any other type of person of other minorities of many different types of beliefs and abilities. It's become common knowledge Simself doesn't mean anything other than creation of someone of the LGBTQ community.
But finally, there is so much of the game that needs so many different things and requests from so many other people that Simself should have never been the drive behind the dollar nor the only focus of this game. But that is what they advertise and market. Disabled people of all types are a minority, Religion in the USA has become a minority group, too. The heterosexual male is now a minority for those who don't know. There are all kinds of peoples who are minorities in this day and age however, they aren't represented. If the game wants to claim it's inclusive and diverse they need to start proving it, or Simself should become just like any other way to play and not the focus and get back to a life simulator. Because if the game is about representation, I will say it one last time, it has failed, badly.
