It’s easier for the team to advertise for the LGTBQ community because it can be made fun, loud and very colorful. It’s all rainbows and unicorns and that’s exactly what’s popular right now.
Not the same can be said for any other group. Religion? Disabilities? That stuff is kinda too serious to be boasting about through every single advertisement.
Personally I feel there’s way WAY too much focus on representation in general and it does feel like false advertisement because - as others mentioned long before me- it isn’t necessarily reflected in the actual gameplay. I’m not even talking about the way every sim is bi unless I use a beautiful mod for that.
Question for those who hang these Pride flags in their sim’s home: do Sims get a special “Pride” buff from them? Or does it work like any other decor? I’m curious.
I also find that this game is being taken too seriously by folks who believe The Sims needs to be as realistic as possible. However, as soon as something get’s a little too controversial for them they gonna get their nickers all in a twist and cry and demand the game to be changed for just poor them, resulting in a very and utterly useless Nerf Fest.
By trying to force this game into something too close to real life it will become an extremely boring game at best.
Inclusion is great but also keep this fun for everyone.
