Personally I have always find it weird with food that never spoils when you play another household, seeing a sim eat some food that you know they cooked 3 weeks ago is a weird feeling.
I eat food cooked even longer ago than that. ? Just pretend they froze the leftovers for later. Although I really don't keep track of when my sim prepared a dish.
