Monster Under the Bed?

Has anyone's child sim been successful with becoming friends with the monster under the bed? I haven't & just curious what happens.

  • I did once. You can talk to the monster under the bed, much like you can befriend and talk to the giant stuffed animals.
There are somewhat amusing interactions like “Ask about living under beds”
I think they show up in the relationships panel, but not sure. Very like the stuffed animals.
Your child Sim will get excited rather than scared when the monster appears at night. I think it still stops them sleeping though.

I recommend no yelling or spraying if you are going this route though as I had a hard time even getting my monster to listen if I did those.
  • I did too, I made a thread over here many moons ago http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/891967/finally-she-is-friends-with-the-monster-under-her-bed/p1 :)
  • Uh-oh. I had my one Sim yell at in her frustration. Sounds as if I may have blown it. :disappointed:
  • Yes, I had my sim talk to the monster under the bed multiple times, however it took a while for the monster to be friendly with her.
  • I recently made this successfully happen to one of my little girl sims that I played. I had to make her talk to the monster about 5-7 times before the monster accepted her as friends. I thought it would be much harder tbh.
  • I always add the lamp to avoid it. Still, when I forget, it's still a huge shock seeing it, if the child is active. It's very cool though, it's mostly the waking up the entire house every night (if you have several kids) that makes me avoid it.

The lamp hasn't been working for me -- I'm still getting the monsters even with it in the kids' room (raising twin boys).
  • Nope, my Sim children have never been successful at even talking to the monster under the bed, lol.
  • @stilljustme2 Objects like that have a limited sphere of influence so it will probably need to be pretty close to the bed/s. With twins, you might need a lamp for each?
