More realistic and affordable ways to learn the logic skill?

Fishing raise logic and meditating too if I remember correctly.... I never buy the chess table or scientific equipment and I raised logic on one of my Sims... most of it came from the books anyway.
I'd like a smaller and more normal microscope, I hate that monster when have now. I'd also like the ability to play logic games on the pc
