If at this point the next ep in November isn't seasons, they will be shooting themselves in the foot. It appeals to a casual market as well as the loyal fans, as well as being a guaranteed money maker. Of course they will do live streams and try to gain hype but just saying they will announce it as the next pack will start that hype train running, no effort necessary. They would be silly not to.
I mean, there are too many Seasons threads around that I'd be surprised if Seasons wasn't coming this year. :p It'd be a bad move on their part not to at least announce it this year. - aejp24Seasoned NoviceStill, when I play the sims 2 the expansions added more to the game and not recycled stuff from previous EP's. I still play the sims 2 daily and enjoy it. Each expansion not only added stuff for the sims but lots more interactions that are not recycled with a different name. They had a lot more romantic options, could pose, could play with their kids, had more dancing options, and lots more. The sims themselves felt unique and diverse and had different likes and dislikes and interests. When I play that game it almost feels ahead of its time compared to the sims 4. Don't get me wrong I love the sims 4 for different things. I love building even if there are a lot of features missing, the build/buy mode has the nicest stuff compared to the sim 2 and 3 but the sims themselves feel stale and I often get bored playing the sims in live mode and find myself building and decorating more and more. Where in the sims 2 I'm terrible at building and the sims themselves don't look that great but I can play it for hours because the sims are interesting. So in terms of EP's I would buy a bunch like the sims 2 for the sims 4 because at least we would have real apartments, a real way to run businesses and restaurants, we would have cars and hobbies, and to top it off they felt complete unlike the expansion packs of the sims 4. Our sims also have fewer interactions with each other and more interactions with objects in the sims 4 too.

TS2 recycled stuff all the time. For instance Open for Business reused restaurants from Nightlife, and then Bon Voyage recycled them
again for hotels. Guitars were first introduced in TS2 University but later recycled in Seasons as a career reward. FreeTime recycled DJ booth from Nightlife. Both FreeTime and Apartment Life recycled pool tables from University. Apartment Life also recycled elevators from OFB. The list just goes on and on...
The idea that TS2 EPs added more stuff is absolutely silly. Packs like OFB, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Apartment Life were all very lacking. The only EP that added quite a lot of new stuff by today’s standards was Nightlife. - aejp24Seasoned NoviceI guess we have different opinions then. I still enjoy the expansions from the sims 2 and 3 more than the sims 4. Apartments in the sims 2 are much better by today's standards and I mean we can't build any in the sims 4 at all. Open for business is still better in the sims 2 vs what we have in the sims 4 as well. We don't have seasons yet but I can only guess from the previous expansions that it will lack in some way. I actually think the sims 3 did seasons best. I love the holidays and the graphics. The Sims 2 might not have come with as much stuff but I got more out of it. I have high expectations for the sims 4 because it's the 4th time they have done this.
- Personally, i think seasons should be a free update or free GP (e.g. toddlers, christmas stuff) but have seasonal based GPs (e.g. toddler stuff). That way everyone gets seasons (although there could be an option to disable it) but people who REALLY want it get extra bits too through GPs.
- Im loving all the references to climates. Also if we get extreme weather events like "drought" suggests ill be excited, and im never usually that excited for seasons.

I'm not sure how to feel about seasons. It's my most anticipated pack, and I want it, like, yesterday. But that being said, I want it well done and in depth.
What I would actually be happy about is if they did an overall weather EP (this year!) and then took GPs to build on each season. So there would be a winter sports themed GP, an island escape GP, and romance GP for spring, and a fall themed GP that could be like raking leaves, trick or treating etc.
That would be my ultimate wish. Weather and seasonal events are the last things on my wishlist for this game. Fingers forever crossed!!
This is exactly what I've been wanting to. Weather EP but vacation/specific weather GPs. :) - Ok so now we got this new roof that mentions rainstorms with the patch...
They're really hinting Seasons...
http://simscommunity.info/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/new-roof.png - I hope we get to set which places get what weather. I dont want snow in OS or Selvadorada. Severe thunderstorms, yes, but snow and penguins? No.
