My sim just removed a wild plant!!!!

How do I get it back?! And HOW did she do it? I didn't tell her to do it, I didn't even know she could!!! This was on Sulani if it means anything and the wild plant was a KAWA plant!!!!!
  • I'm not sure how she did it on her own, but I know that wild plants can be removed. If you can't figure it out, I do have one suggestion I know will work. Go to a community lot on the island, and you can plant it there. It will sort of be like replacing it. It will need to be cared for from time to time depending on how much and how long your sim(s) spend time at that location. But at least this way, you won't lose access to those plants.
  • This is happening on my game only in Sulani as well. I have to be very careful with the plants there. On the rare occasion that they bear fruit at all, if I'm not very very careful, my sim removes the wild plant and it doesn't even go in my inventory. It just goes away! I think its a new thing the Sims team is trying with this one but I'm not a fan of the wild plant removal thing at all!
  • This has happened to me also, can I ask @duhboy2u2 and @Stina1701A was your sim an evil sim? cause mine was an evil mermaid that was trying to remove it, I was just lucky she was out swimming when she queued to do it and I could stop her lol. My other sim mermaid lived there too, and she never once tried to remove wild plants, she was not evil. Just a thought and curious.

No. She isn't evil and she is even has the good trait. She is not even a mermaid. She is a teen I actually rescued from the townie pool. She is a budding gardener though and has her own private planters with some flowers in it. I do have other gardeners in my rotations and at least 2 that are higher skill level than her but I have never seen this as possible and I have had plenty of gardeners in Granite Falls for instance where there are plenty of wild plants.

The Sim in question was and still is (game is paused) on one of the tiny little islands off the little beach community lot in Lani St. Taz. She was zooming around in her private water scooter and I had her go there because of that plant being harvestable and she harvested it. Then I had her stay around to comb the sand for seashells. I looked off her for a second to look in on what the others in the household were doing and give them a few commands and chores and when I zoomed back to her, she was sitting by the plant and the action icon said she was removing a wild plant.

Tried to cancel but the action was too far gone and poof went the Kawa plant  I'll be keeping a very close eye on all my Sims for now on. I will try to plant a plant at one of the community lots to compensate but still.

Edited to say: I am just gonna quit out of the game without saving. Will loose a bunch of actions but I don't really care. I don't want to loose that Kawa plant because its the only one I have found so far.
  • I was able to harvest the kava plant (spring season), but you do have the option to remove all wild plants when you click on them. (Granite Falls has the same thing - I believe that they eventually regenerate on their own.)

I did one worse - my Sim caught and mounted two 'endangered' species of fish. Now, this goes against all my real-life morals, but when it comes to completing collections for my Sims, I'm ruthless. (I still feel a bit uncomfortable about stealing artifacts from Selvadora. But I completed my collection, nonetheless.)

The second time she did it, there were others fishing with her, both of whom were quite disapproving of her behaviour. Definitely not the way to make friends with the locals.
  • The option to "remove wild plant" has been around for a long time. I believe it was added after the Growfruit special event because a lot of Simmers worlds had certain trees replaced by the Growfruit trees. In particular the cherry trees, but others as well and it was making it tough for Simmers to complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration.

In that case what would happen is your Sim would remove the Growfruit tree and the original tree it replaced would regrow in that spot. I have no idea why any Sim would do it autonomously though, sounds like a bug to me. *shrugs*
  • No. My sim is a mermaid (She didn't start as one. She accidentally ate Mermadic Kelp) but she's a good one. I can't remember if the plant removal thing happened before or after she turned into a mermaid though either. I suppose they could be connected.

My mermaid autonomously did this too. I was like - What are you doing and why??? She was about to go remove another plant and I had to stop her. I notice mermaids also go view plants autonomously - not sure what their weird obsession with plants is. I have never really understood why 'remove' is even an option on plants - is that for plant haters?
