My ultimate ideas for a farming expansion (horses, new businesses, off the grid)

Hmmm... do you think that farming in the sims ain't gonna sound like a cool thing, well think again. Just imagine all the potential stuffs that would come with this pack. And this might not be as very *game changing* feature like seasons that completely altered how you play and live your sims' lives but this would be a great way to have and take some serious challenges in this game and for your sims and way to become a humble farmer and also be able to return horses *fingers crossed* that sadly we didn't get from the Cats and Dogs expansion. And assuming that things like cars, bikes, transportations, swimming in all bodies of water may had already came by the time that this EP would be released (if ever). And anyways, all of essential core expansion packs have already been released eg. Pets, Seasons, Careers, Night Life, so now it's about time to release these kind of packs imo. So personally, these are the things that I would like to be included:

*Some are very ambitious somehow but most of it are very essential and are a must features

*And again, a farming pack may not sound like a full proper expansion for most of you but horses, a huge world, new business type (supplier and producer), a farming system sounds kinda like a full expansion for me.

WORLD

- A full size countryside world primarily for farming and off-the-grid living
- Similar to brindleton bay but way further than civilization, lol
- Only two neighborhoods have access to utility lines eg. water, electricity
- Must consist of a new lot size of 96x96 perfect for all-things farming.
- Uneven lots or estates for rice-terracing, livetocks, ranching, etc.
- Should feature at least 4 new neighborhoods with 5 lots each with distinct and notable features.
- Should feature wide rivers, short hills, wide plains, a tiny forest, and a huge lake at the center for fishing and swimming.
- Average temperature would be warm with dry weather, and may sometimes experience destructive heavy rains *requires seasons* and intense droughts and heatwaves that would have a great impact on your farm.
- There should be an iconic spot where you can always telll that you're in that world eg. a farmer statue, a sickle monument, the farmers revolution
- And there should also be a water wheel beside a river that sims can interact with.

OFF THE GRID LIVING

- This is fully optional, you don't have to live in this lifestyle to become a farmer or to run a farm or business
- The world should have a distinct neighborhood where there will be no electricity, water pipes, and sewer lines.
- There will be a limited supply of electricity and sims must own electric generators, solar panels, windmills, etc. (nevermind, let's just save this for an *Industrial themed expansion pack LOL*
- Sims may only use hour-lasting candles or fireflies as their only source of light during nighttime.
- Sims must use the water well or collect tanks of water from lakes and rivers for their water supply.
- Some sims must resort on owning a farm in order to have food
- There will be no things such as "flushing the toilet" since sims may use "dry-toilets" to release their bladder *yuck*
- Sims may only solve their hygiene needs by showering in the rain *will require seasons* or by swimming in the lakes or rivers or by using the well.
- Strictly no phones, TVs, radios and all sorts of electric appliances.
- Clothing style must be kinda *dirty* or *dusty* with muddy or grungy overlays, you get the point.
- More cowboy clothings, more clothes similar to Patchy the Scarecrow's outfit.
- Kids may rely on their parents' help to be educated if they decided to not enroll at a proper school.

BUSINESSES

Sims who own this type of businesses should not be considered as a retailer but as a supplier or producer and a sim should be able what size of business he would own wether it would be small or big

New SMALL BUSINESSES IDEAS for LIVING
- Vineyard (Vines)
- Orchard (Nuts
- Market Garden (Flowers) *Should Require Seasons

New BIG BUSINESSES IDEAS for LIVING
- Dairy Farm (Cows, Gats, Milk, Cheese, Butter)
- Poultry Farm (Chickens, Eggs, Broilers, Chicken Meat)
- Pig Farm (Pigs, Porks and Hams LOL)
- Fish Farm (Various types of fresh-water fishes) *AquaCulture, duh*
- Sheep Farm (Mutton, Wool, and Cotton)
- Crop Farm (All crops and plants)

*Just to be clear, only two types of businesses, small or big, nothing else should be specific.

FARMING

- The food supply from all over the worlds would depend on how the farm performs eg. Sims may not able to make a carrot cake in his fridge when there's currently no supply of carrots from the farm
- Farmers must own a water tank or build a water facility to sustain his farm's water needs or must have a proper irrigation or something, LOL
- Ability to build a full homestead comeplete with , barns, shells, windmills, etc.
- Be able to put water wheels beside the rivers
- Silos for storing and sheltering the produce and seeds
- And also dikes, levees, and an irrigation system etc.
- The climate would have a very great impact on your crops and probably even on the animals eg. droughts will wither your plants and kill some of it.

NEW *Work From Home* Career

*I don't want to be an active career since our farmer sims can be labeled as self-employed for owning a farm *This is also optional since you don't have to be in the farmer career so you can own and run a farm

-Farmer (Two Branches: Agriculturist and Animal Hoarder)

NEW SKILLS and ASPIRATIONS

- Farming Skill
- Butchering Skill *LMAO*
- Cowboy skill

- The Humble Farmer Aspiration
- The Farm Animal Enthusiast

HORSES

- Can be created or edited in Create A Pet
- Should also have unique traits like what other pets do.
- Can be trained to become a race horse
- Wildhorses can be tamed and so is can be adopted
- Sims must be able to ride on them
- Can be tied to a fense

*Pretty much like everything that we had in TS3 Pets

ANIMALS - These animals should be object-tied or non-free range (similar to what our current sim babies do and thus are the rodents from MFP) and sims all of ages must be able to interact with these objects eg. kids can play with them and adults can feed them or even

- Chickens - Sims must be able to hold them if possible and collect eggs
- Cows - Sims aged kid and above must be able to milk them
- Sheeps - Adults can shear them for their wool
- Pigs - Sims can play with them in the mud inside the fence
- Goats - nevermind these bastards
- Ducks -
- Turkeys - Only *brave* sims must be able to able to interact with them without having bruises and scratches from these modern dinosaurs LMAO

NEW CROPS

Just imagine seeing a huge acres of cornfield gracefully swaying as the wind blows

- Corns
- Wheats
- Oaks
- Cane
- Rice

NERD STATS of this EP

Primary focus - farming system, the world, and horses
Secondary focus - the animals and new types of businesses or farms
Least focus - create a sim assets *meh, ♪ sometimes the clothes do not make the man LMAO ♪ *

* Pretty much that's all of it and also in case if I missed to add anything else, yes, feel free to add something and I would like to know your ideas also.

  • This sounds like a lot of fun. Farming is one of my most wanted expansions. I'm not sure my computer could handle a 96x96 lot though. Perhaps instead we could have the ability to buy multiple fields and use them as part of our overall farm, with the farm house being on our primary lot. That would save some processing power. When you play on a Mac you have to think of these things!

I would rather all the animals be animals and not objects, but that's just me. As long as they don't wander off and leave home, that's why I stopped adding pets to my families, they became a pain.

The crops don't seem to all come from the one eco-system. I think I would rather some cohesion with growables, but other than that and it being wildly beyond anything they would put in one pack, even an EP, bring it on!
  • This would be amazing. I'm waiting for horses for long time and I hope that they will introduce them in the game. how can we grant this wish?

    Only?
No. They should also have oil lamps (lasts all night before needing a refill), and solar lamps (place the lamp by a window to charge during the day, to provide light at night)

    - Sims must use the water well or collect tanks of water from lakes and rivers for their water supply.

What about collecting rain water from their roof (if you have seasons). It's the standard method for non-mains water here.

    - There will be no things such as "flushing the toilet" since sims may use "dry-toilets" to release their bladder *yuck*
    Composting toilets, pit toilets...

    - Sims may only solve their hygiene needs by showering in the rain *will require seasons* or by swimming in the lakes or rivers or by using the well.
The sponge bath needs to return!

    - Strictly no phones, TVs, radios and all sorts of electric appliances.
Why? You can get solar versions of many things, solar chargers for phones do exist!

    - Clothing style must be kinda *dirty* or *dusty* with muddy or grungy overlays, you get the point.
Only if you don't take care of yourself!

    - More cowboy clothings, more clothes similar to Patchy the Scarecrow's outfit.
    I'd prefer stockman style.

School of the air should be an option!

    - Sheep Farm (Mutton, Wool, and Cotton)
No lamb? Why only old meat?
And why cotton? My parents are sheep farmers, and they certainly don't grow cotton! They don't get enough rain for it!!

    - And also dikes, levees, and an irrigation system etc.
Oh gosh... I'm so used to farming country that uses none of that! Crops are planted in fields, and the rain waters them. That's it! If there's not enough rain, then the crops don't grow, and if there's not enough rain for the crops, then there certainly isn't enough rain to use irrigation!

    - The climate would have a very great impact on your crops and probably even on the animals eg. droughts will wither your plants and kill some of it.
That's certainly an issue in Australia this year! Farms aren't just having crops fail to grow, the wind is taking away the fertile top soil, meaning that they'll not grow well in the future either.
The farms in the areas of drought are also losing most of their livestock too. It's pretty horrible stuff to live through.

    - Cowboy skill

    What about jackaroo/jillaroo skill?

    - Goats - nevermind these plum
    - Ducks -

Goats and ducks are awesome!! And geese are better than ducks. Geese will attack people that they don't like, and can be as effective as a guard dog.

    - Oaks
Oak trees? What would you grow them for? You do realise, don't you, that they are very slow growing. They're not something you'd expect to get wood from in your own lifetime.

    - Cane
What sort of cane? For furnishing? for sugar?

    - Rice
Requires insane amounts of water, and pesticides (unless you use ducks)
