I completed this weeks mandatory tasks. The theme of the event is nice. Too bad it will be forever unavailable in a few weeks with no chance to unlock items for players who miss out or start after the event.
I don't like how the event is explicitly telling me I can't do all tasks because I don't own Lovestruck. I don't want that DLC. I think I prefer if the game just doesn't show the tasks of DLC a simmer doesn't own. There is also a but where a want related to the event pops up despite wants and fears being turned off.
For 10 years we only had one woodworking bench, now we have four! I like to have some variety. The wall is nice too, it suits the crafting room, which normally only has the two workbenches against the wall. My favorites are the workbenches from the kits.
I don't have Lovestruck either so I was startled to see the optional task come up when I was obviously not going to do it. it's definitely better not to show those tasks to someone who doesn't have the pack. I haven't noticed it before, so either it used to be that way, or I owned all the relevant packs in the past. It's unlikely though, as there are a few I will definitely never get.

It doesn't change what you unlock because you still get the points you need from the base tasks, so I guess it was just for variety? I wonder you can get enough points without finishing all of the base tasks or is it that you are just short of what you need and you must finish the base anyway to unlock everything.

Yeah, you do need to finish all the base tasks, Anmirla, in order to claim all the prizes and finish the event.
