- oh this is a bit of a surprise. I'm thinking it's not a stuff pack but rather an update. However, EA rarely does things the way I anticipate 'em so it's up in the air until tomorrow at least. Could be something akin to the Sims 3 Store content but not quite an SP? If that makes sense. maybe TS4 will be getting its own store so we may all be milked even more. . . the dancing hamster looks like a sim in a costume. maybe we're getting an outfit to match with our newfound pet.

More animal prints?
One new animal?
Is it a cow? Would be so fitting!

A stuff pack that requires cats and dogs to play and features rodents of all things. Not, you know, bunnies, or parrots, or anything else big. No. Literal mice. Twitter reactions are very "eh" as well.
Fro, Wikipedia: Well-known rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, prairie dogs, porcupines, beavers, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and capybaras. Other animals such as rabbits, hares, and pikas, whose incisors also grow continually, were once included with them, but are now considered to be in a separate order, the Lagomorpha.
The trailer specifically says one pet.
We don't have the full trailer though. What would be the point of releasing the trailer tomorrow if we had all of the details today?- Sigzy_297 years agoLegendWhat?

It is intriguing.
I wonder if the Engagement Team have realized people would rather them spend their budget on building up existing packs, rather than challenges that don't mean anything.
I would really love the team to spend that budget on makig
I mean, I would rather spend my money on complete expansion packs, rather than packs which reintroduce and split things I already have maybe not once, twice, but three times before.
Just me though.
Define complete.
I don't think there's ever been a Sims Expansion that ever felt like there was nothing more they could have added.

Where is their incentive to stop...? The percent of the community that puts their foot down is in the severe minority. Everyone just wants the new content, regardless of what it takes to get it.
No argument here. And I won’t deny that I contribute to the problem. Sometimes it’s hard not to jump at the opportunity of something new when there are so many aspects of TS4 I feel we are still missing. Nonetheless, I agree that EA will do whatever it wants regardless of what we say so long as the money continues rolling in.
Sometimes I feel like the Sims Community is the first video game community that might actually have Stockholm Syndrome, because it feels like that very desperation to have the game feel complete also helps boost their sales.
It's an actual thing mobile games are renowned for. If you Google it, you can actually read up on research surrounding the topic.
What many developers do is they'll create a situation where the user either cannot play the game any further, has some super "worthy" deal dangling in front of their face that they can only get for a limited time, or makes them feel they need to pay to get ahead. Then, to ensure some get their dosage of dopamine, users cave in and buy into the app's microtransactions to feel as if they are succeeding and winning.
I'd argue it's similar with The Sims 4. Huge lack of content, then when they finally release something, because you once loved the game or the franchise, you feel compelled to buy it, but the high doesn't last long as the packs lack depth. So you wait for the next one. Rinse and repeat.
Think of the main menu, for instance. Notice how they show all packs and specifically highlight the ones you don't have, to make you feel like you absolutely have to complete your collection. A very nice remainder EVERY time you boot the game that you're missing those packs. Even more, when you go to the world screen, if you're missing a world that comes with a pack, they STILL show it, but with a lock, to remind you that this world exists, and you can't have it.
Sure, but I think F2PMMOs and mobile games deserve their own category since they make that kinda obvious they want your money, but some people fall into that trap anyways.
With Sims, I'd say it's the first non-free model that can actually get close to Stockholm Syndrome, ironically because people buy to try and complete the game. Definitely unique in that regard.
But whatever, let's wait and see if this is free or not. If it isn't, I'mma make a killing selling pitchforks.- MidnightAura867 years agoSeasoned Ace

I burst out laughing at this and milk may have gone up my nose. Thank you for the giggle! - Luckylunayre7 years agoSeasoned AceI think it will be free, but we shall see tomorrow.
If this was added on later in the year as paid content then I wouldnt mind.
The only reason it bothers me now is because it would mean they purposefully left out content to sell.
Its possible cats and dogs was supposed to have other animals but wanted a holiday release and just didnt have the time. "PninaSimmer;c-16361914" wrote:

Wow, this was unexpected. Maybe it's part of the new patch? Looks like we might be getting a rodent pet of some sorts, this is exciting!
are you kidding me you seriously are excited for this pack.
Why can't someone be excited? I think that's a very rude statement to make.
because its shocking that someone is excited for this.
