sooooo lame !!! a burglar dressed as a mime !!!! i did not play previous sims games, and i dont like surprise animations forced on me while i play, hopefully there is some way to have it not appear by deleting him or blocking him i do not want that in my game !!!!! i delete all kleptos.. It will only cause me to pause my game play to go out and delete it

That's how they're always been dressed in previous installments and they've always been in previous games. I'm quite happy this feature is back because frankly it's pretty boring with nothing of interest happening in game.
Already mentioned on the page that burglars will be rare event, so your sim isn't going to be robbed every night or even every other night. What the alarm system is for to help prevent that. Even if you delete them they will respawn regardless.

yeah i get it, it is still not going to change my opinion even if respect the legacy of previous installment and the desire of the majority of simmers... it still will be a nuisance and a waste of time for me. I have already learned that there might be an opt out...
[edit;]
allow burglar visit check/uncheck
Confirmed
TY for this one

Never seen it as such personally. Rather goofy and fun. I do enjoy variety.
But good for others they added a toggle for some to not interrupt the usual suburban lifestyle of their sims though. So, good all around for both sides.

The burglar design is in tune with what inspired a lot of the really random, chaotic NPC Sims since the beginning of the franchise: Old school cartoons and films. Think Looney Tunes, Tex Avery and Tom and Jerry. Prison uniforms and burglars were prone to the horizontal black and white stripes in the "old days". There are a lot of Easter eggs and nods to these cartoonish references in the first game and this has continued in various ways, though less recognizable to later generations due to the world trying to become more aware of harmful stereotypes in regards to race and gender norms, mental health, equality for all and so forth.
Thankfully for Simmers who want more control over their games, the Sims 4 has far more options for those who don't want surprises, added chaos or just certain "difficulties" to their gameplay. The possible deaths in the game are far less out of the blue because the game makes them harder to actually achieve or gives actual warnings to allow the player to choose to leave it be or save their beloved Sim. You should hopefully be able to find options that work for you.
