I don't want to ignite a fire here, but I'd like to point out that the Sim gurus have essentially confirmed that Generations is coming at some point. They said so in the last live stream. So why not allow other types of gameplayer their portion of fun without umbrage? If it is indeed supernatural gameplay this time, which we can't currently confirm. It is the polite and civil thing to do.
Because we family players haven't had dedicated content since 2017 and Parenthood, so there's that, while you had Realm of Magic & Paranormal, not counting Batu as I know many occult players dislike it and don't see it as an occult pack (it's not, it's a Disney World Batu advertisment pack).
@Dakota88 Seasons had a lot of family gameplay, and several packs since then can be integrated to create more "family" oriented gameplay. Even Snowy Escape had some family stuff you can do. Like with the new Rental lots and the new places to visit you can get your family on vacation. A pack doesn't have to be family oriented to have family gameplay.
I don't want to sound rude or anything but I feel like, if you want to play more family oriented you can try to use features from packs to create more gameplay. If you want to play an occult there is literally nothing you can do except for relying on mods. Also I don't get why in the Sims 4 we suddenly need "family dedicated" packs, when in the past we could just use all the features we got with all the different packs to create new family gameplay scenarios.
Also a lot of family content should have been included in the base game like in all previous games, so if you're a family player who feels like the game doesn't have enough gameplay, then complain to EA about the base game, because family gameplay should be base game content.
I would love more packs focused exclusively on families but poor occult players have nothing else to rely on for supernatural gameplay other than mods.
Thank you, exactly this. There's so much more in this game for families to do than occults. More worlds that are normal and "family friendly." What can you even do as a vampire that's different from anything else in the game besides the interactions with themselves and other sims? Grow a plasma tree in Forgotten Hollow? Oh Forgotten Hollow, the world with 5 lots total for us occult players. Spellcasters have the very limited magic realm they can visit sure, that's different, one lot total. Glimmerbrook isn't anything different, a normal family could live there. Again what, 5 lots total? What about aliens? Oh cool, Sixam, a world for aliens that has one small lot that you can't even live on.
Seasons you can celebrate holiday's with the families and do different activities with the families, Snowy Escape you can go on vacation and do different mountain activities with families, Cats & Dogs added pets and interactions with most the life stages (after all pets are part of the family), then you have packs like Parenthood, Kids Room Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Backyard Stuff (that adds more activities for families). Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Retreat you can vacation to with the family and do different family activities together there. Bowling Night, Movie Hangout, Cool Kitchen, and Spooky Stuff adds even more stuff you can do with families. Like, if you don't want to do that stuff with your sims because you find it boring or don't want to buy the pack, fine, but it's there still and that's the point.
And yeah, occults can utilize a lot of this stuff too, but the point is you're a vampire...or a spellcaster, or a mermaid, like "oh cool come on mermaid and vampire friend let's go ski down some slopes, cowabunga!" There's not much at all for occults to actually do. Especially when comparing it to the amount of stuff you can do with a sim family.
