Henford on Bagley is an interesting name, cos 'x on y' normally means 'y' is a river, but Bagley doesn't sound like river - it sounds like a town on another town.
There are tons of -ley places, especially here in Yokshire. A fair few -fords, too. I've heard it said that '-ley' indicates the presence of ley-lines.
