I think it was big like 10 years ago....
but then again it appears the game is really late on the trends anyway
which is fine but also they should just stop trying to be hip when they not and give some real content
10 years ago?? No way. PSY. EXO. Blackpink. 2NE1.All of the touring (KCON and the like) Especially with BTS in America and going to other international countries. I started listening 10 years ago and it is SO much bigger.- I'd be interested in a high school pack especially if it brought more teen specific gameplay, which is sorely lacking (in this sense I'd like it to just be a school pack in general so it can add things for both teens AND kids). It'd be cool to have the option to go to school with them like the active careers from GTW. There could be school events like dances or sport events or even like career day. Maybe even like a spirit week or field trips. It'd also be cool if we got more after-school related activities. We got drama club with Get Famous but it'd be cool if we got like: marching band, science club, art club, some sports, etc. and it would be even cooler if they weren't just rabbit holes but again have the option to attend.
Currently with drama club on certain days there's a drama performance that the whole family can attend which I like the idea of, but it'd be nice to actually go with them and see it myself... I don't know if they would incorporate drama club into Another pack since it's already in GF, but it would be cool to see after school clubs in general expanded upon. We really need more of them... well to say 2012 is when psy happened and its 2021 next year soo... the gap to 10 years aint really that big if thats when you consider it getting big
also kpop was really big in 2009 already with various yg, sm and jyp artists so I don't see it being "trendy new wave" anymore its more like continuing wave

Ok but what about EXO or BTS? BTS especially is huge! Kpop is at its highest peak internationally right now. Before it was so niche now everyone and their grandma has heard of kpop or their siblings or kids listen to it. Its really not a phase it's popular Korean music? It will always be relevant in Korea and for kpop fans. Is American pop music just a phase too then? Besides there are plenty of genres within korean music kpop fans listen to as well - rap, rnb, alternative etc which some popular groups utilize from time to time. Maybe for you its no longer relevant but its definitely still huge in mainstream media.- American pop music is no phase, it's main stream music right now. In fact that majority of American radio stations is either country, rock or pop.

Where has it come from about high school musical? Just out of interest. I’m a huge musicals fan and loved high school musical but it seems so old now and not on trend so I can’t see why sims would do a pack about it. I get the whole high school pack vibe but not a high school musical pack. As for Kpop no no and no I do not get the hype at all or maybe I’m getting old and no longer understand current music trends as it’s not just k pop but other popular music at the moment.
A couple of Sim Gurus have song titles from HSM in their Twitter Bios and some people ran with it. That's about it.
Ah I see. I remember for ages sim guru ninja was putting out posts of him working from home with lots of Star Wars stuff in the background so maybe the quotes may be hints of some sort. I’m not sure on a high school musical theme though as it’s old and no longer on trend for Disney. The k-pop thing makes more sense as that is very big at the moment.
Well...High School Musical the Musical the series is definitely not old (the movies are you're right on that but not the series) although the series are kinda meant for teens and preteens, so I'm not sure about the age demographic - Babykittyjade5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Yea. I've never been a big music listener or music video watcher but rest assured I know kpop!! Lol TVXQ? and when my 9 year old niece talked about BTS I was like ? how does she even know?
They are definitely getting more popular.
It's a shame BOA never got too popular in America. I still consider her one of the best dancers/artits in the world. The new kpop girl groups cannot hold a candle to her "StrawberryYogurt;c-17755071" wrote:

the point I am trying to make is not about calling it phase
(even if tbh it personally was very much a phase)
and I would definitely consider any other music style having their own golden ages as well if thats where the issue is
(say 2020 wouldn't really be remembered for metal bands or anything either you know but they always have their fans)Spoiler
I meant it more like it would have been new and hip 10 years ago
but now it feels same old same old and has lost the
'' oh whats that? thats cool I've never seen that before so creative and new'' shine
also i don't think exo and bts being popular makes genre more popular per say
because these days its less about being fan of genre
and more about being fan of specific groups and people
which well in my opinion is not win for the genre itself
anyway we should probably just agree to disagree on how hip kpop is now
because this is greatly steering the discussion topic off rails
and lmao it doesn't even matter that much tbh- DaWaterRat5 years agoSeasoned AceI mean, on the subject of Bands, I'd prefer Rock Bands over Boybands (I also prefer them musically, unless you want to stretch it and call The Beatles or Duran Duran "boy bands") But I'll take either. Or even Marching Bands.
Ever since Spark'd, I've kinda been hoping for a way to create my own version of Dr. Gluon's Bubble Bois... - netney525 years agoSeasoned Ace@Simmingal and @StrawberryYogurt I never meant for my initial comment to get off topic or into any debate. It was just an observation I made on K-pop and the recent news of the collab which I do think will appear in an upcoming pack that's all I meant by my initial comment as others had mentioned it. I never meant for anything to go off topic.
