Normal Life!

I literally said "no, don't shake his hand!" loudly when I played the game yesterday.

My Sims are always in isolation - I never let them leave their house unless they're going to work or school, and they're not allowed to meet anyone. Pretty much like real life - it's ironic that those of who have been told all our lives to 'be more social' have the ideal skillset for a pandemic.

Our "stay at home" order goes into effect today. I went to the store yesterday right when they issued it and had no problems stocking up. I am pretty much going no where for 30 days. Outside activities are ok. So I will be doing that. I usually do no do much anyway. My Sims are much more social than I am. So they can still go to restaurants and clubs. They do tend to work from home though. I am getting a healthy dose of my coworkers having fur and demanding my attention as I am now working from home.

i am an introvert to the sense that emotionally the isolating isn't taxing at all. My husband though very extroverted and he is driving me up a wall. I am hoping that in a couple months he is still driving me up a wall though. I care for his mom who lives with us so I have the house on tight lockdown.

So glad to have the sims right now and streamers are streaming more often at the moment too so thats fun :D

I'm normally an introvert but this isolation is getting to me, probably partly because I live alone and my college has moved to online classes so I haven't been able to see the few people I actually like interacting with. I'm graduating this semester, though, so I won't be able to see any of them in the fall and the graduation ceremony has been postponed indefinitely. I'm sad about my last couple of months of college being like this, but on the bright side I have more time to play Sims. I've been thinking about playing with my simself in University so that at least virtual me can have a real graduation.

This isolation does not bother me at all. For my sims, it's pretty much the same.

This is me everyday. The area I live in is so economically depressed theres nothing to do culturally even if I wanted to. Everyone around here is a "good ol' boy or gal" so they will be out in nature doing things according to whats in "season". My only real friends are my hubby and my son and as im a SAHM who now is helping her son complete his schoolwork this isolation or social distancing is small potatoes to me. Besides, humans bother me more and more the older I get, lol.

I'm not having a tough time adjusting, but hubby is beside himself. Learning how to work from home, relying on conference calls and not being allowed to travel have taken a toll on his nerves. LOL Not to mention he is trying to calm his nerves by eating. We have been in self-isolation for three weeks, long before our governor decided to close all non-essential businesses and venues because hubby had been traveling for work when this virus first became known, and he had been in several different airports. The only sad part in all of this is I will miss celebrating Easter with my family, and our friends from church. But I am thrilled hubby has not displayed any signs of having been exposed. He seems better emotionally since we turned that corner, but he's an extrovert while I lean more towards being a bit introverted so this isolation is more difficult for him. Having him underfoot and bored is like having an antsy teenager in the house. Today he wandered out to his shop and worked on a car he is restoring for a couple hours so I am hoping he will become interested in that again and spend less time worrying about the things he can't do. Right now he is searching for car parts on the internet. But even after we start seeing a drop in the numbers, this virus won't be less of a concern until there is a vaccine available. And the sooner people realize this isn't a drill but possibly a new way of life for the next ten to twelve months, the safer we'll all be. Stay safe and well, everyone.

I just heard that my mother has it now. She's in quarantine. Other then that, I don't know much yet.
She has immunodeficiency from an operation where her lower intestines were infected and had to be surgically removed a few years ago. I'm in North America and she's in Europe. So nothing I can really do anyways except try to prepare emotionally for the worst.

@Admiral8Q So sorry to hear your mother is ill. One of our church friends is in isolation at home after she tested positive. So far no one in our family has symptoms, and we pray it stays that way. And because the Seattle area was the first to be affected, we have been seen how quickly it can spread if given the opportunity. I have a few friends who are healthcare workers and they quickly let everyone they know how dangerous this virus can be. Before the media became involved many of us already knew what was coming. We knew there wasn't a cure or a vaccine and the virus had the ability to become worse than a flu outbreak.
