Anyone else with me? I usually love expansions and as a Sims fan, I just feel this expansion is lacking in gameplay. The neighborhood and items look beautiful but beautiful items aren’t enough to justify the price of an expansion. They could have at least added resorts to the game, but we get dolphins, mermaids, and sunburns?
I agree with this though. There's not a whole lot of new gameplay. Seasons has more gameplay depth. For example, I wouldnt be surprised if the new fishing career is a rabbit hole. I really like watching my sims catch fish. And fishing from the boats would be really rewarding, especially as part of their work. But its most likely something you only get paid for if you go to a rabbit hole.
Also, there are no rental lots. So that takes away a dimension. Then there's the rabbit hole water activities. Not cool.
Its 2019. Time to stop having to pretend and imagine our way through so much of the sims games.
The mermaids are interesting but im certain they dont have a whole lot that unique to them that sets them apart from normal sims.
And the sunbathing, swimming in ocean, lounging on floats, while super nice, dont really contribute in any way to the progression of my Sims lives.
So Im not super duper excited. In fact...im feeling very neutral and very unexcited.
I really wish they would step outside the box with this game. And I am not talking about wacky/unrealistic gameplay either. Im talking expanding the possibilities and providing useful gameplay that gets our sims ahead in life . I hope University wows me. Because it is the only pack potentially coming up that will be more practical for many sims households and would likely be used by each one. I hope new totally active careers are introduced and a couple semi-active ones. And I hope that Uni expansion brings some much needed depth to our sims virtual reality.
