Most likely just bug fixes to sims wearing weird clothing when they shouldn't and other bugs that may be plaguing the game. The short notice is a dead giveaway.Although if they threw a bone for us I would be happy, like maybe the ability to create ghosts in CAS or perhaps separating those cat ears from that hair in Cats and Dogs? I seriously doubt either of those will happen

EA is finally moving forward with dropping support for older systems, and this has been in the works for a long time. I suspect the same will happen for PC users before the new pack drops in November. This was supposed to happen in June but was postponed because of unexplained reasons. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the update on Thursday won't be the last one for anyone using 32-bit systems if it isn't compatible for some Mac users. If that is the case, this update will have a lot of bug fixes and perhaps an update or two for the base game. Part of me is excited to see this finally happening, but part of me is afraid of what it could mean going forward seeing as we are still dealing with so many unfixed bugs. It looks as if the base game has finally been maxed out as far as updating is concerned. They have been doing massive updates to the base game for months so that isn't a huge surprise.

I believe the reason it didn't happen in June is cause they wanted all users to be able to get Island Living and Realm Of Magic both heavily requested packs.

I hope they will fix the butler. The service was the reason many bought that SP, and it feels totally wrong that it can't be used with rotationally play. The service will charge you on days you don't play that house, meaning the cash account will quickly be drained... Seems like a very small fix needed...

Fow what it's worth, for anyone concerned: you'd know if you're n that OS because Origin warned about dropping support (and the legacy client doesn't support the store anymore) for Lion and Mountain Lion. I'm guessing this means we're getting support for Catalina since that's going to be available to public this month (and is possibly the main reason for this patch). Makes me wonder if the short notice about the lack of support for Lion is that they tried to make it work but it's just too conflicting with Catalina's code. And Apple hasn't supported Lion since '14. Things I hope for in the patch otherwise:- potions having a price- cameras being placeable on tables/shelves- less water drinking. Whatever else they have fixes done and approved for. But yeah, I'm not expecting anything massive in terms of bug fixes. (I'll be happily proved wrong)

So add other things. My Fright Fest has Decorate, Costumes, Trick or Treat (which never goes off for me either) and Spooky Spirit. I may not always get a "gold" but I usually don't get an "awful" result. Change it up to add things that work for your sims. Or even drop Trick or Treat

I do wish they'd get Trick Or Treat to work better, yes. But until then, I'll just edit my holidays to cover what works for my play.

(and IRL, I'm big into Halloween. This idea that it's just, or even mostly, for kids is quaintly amusing.)

Its pretty much kids walk up to the candy bowl take candy and leave no actual game play can be done with it. Trick or treat has always worked for me I wonder why others are having issues with it.

People might not realize that you need to put the candy bowl out to trigger the event?

I do have the candy bowl out, but it may be too far back from the front of the lot. And the tradition requires interacting with the trick or treaters, which I never even see spawn.

Love robots and love Halloween, but these costumes are horrible, no offence. Hope there's going to be something else in the update, not only that. Some furniture or decor would be nice.

If they fix the myriad of bugs that would be great. I must admit I am glad there are fewer Maxis Monthlies, I always felt the chat was pretty toxic with people unable to accept there are other games to talk about as well and expecting news of updates and new content constantly. I think they were a fine idea that didn't work and should be consigned to history, or just now and again, changing the name, when there is something to talk about.

Well those costumes are a huge disappointment. I was hoping for proper mage robes which they failed to put into realm of magic. Or just any outfits that complement that expansion.
