I'm sorry @GalacticGal :'( I too am desperate to play with all this new content, but the sad fact of the situation is that it is going to cause catastrophe with and without mods to begin with. Sadly, I see no choice but to play offline and not update until things have settled. Better that then lose all the work you have done so far. I really do hate this though. :(
Wait what's going on?! What is the update supposed to do to our game play? What's the source of your intel? Asking as a mostly vanilla player (no mods, a bit of CC here and there).
For those of us who use mods, this patch is going to be what has been called a Mod-Buster. As in most or all of the mods used will be rendered broken. That's what we're discussing in this thread. I need certain mods for my Sim to be a Rock Star. He managed to climb to Global Superstar status as a Teen and is now earning Best Song Starlight Accolades for his written songs. With the most essential mod I use, he can also do concerts and magazine photoshoots for income. He also has the option to make and release albums for additional revenue. Playing without that mod will do serious damage to that. I will make a copy of my game folder and a copy of the save I've been carefully playing to get my Sims ready for Infants. I will isolate a copy of this save, to play vanilla, if need be, so that I can get a feel for the Infants and the new EP. Once it's safe, I'll play the save that's modded.
For those who play without mods, no worries. Unless the patch and EP lead to bugs. :open_mouth: As for my source of intel, I saw the thread over under Modding and Mods gameplay plus the general thread for modding.
I do hope my explanation is clear enough.
