[Opinions] Life States and Temporary States

As other have said, I agree that making improvements to life states already in the game should be a priority over adding more at this point in time. Permanent plantsims with many more abilities and a skill tree would be wonderful, since they would really fit in with the upcoming nature-themed world. Genies could also potentially be fun if there was more to them than in previous Sims games. The existing life states that don't have a skill tree, most notably aliens and mermaids, definitely would be a lot more enjoyable if they did.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I really wish EA would go back and fix the buggy content added in previous packs. If that actually happened, I might consider purchasing some of those packs. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like more bugs are being added to the game with every expansion than are being fixed.
