At those who add the teens to families @EnkiSchmidt and @pixiejuice.
How do you get them back to their real families with the least play disruption? Do you have to go to managed worlds or do you use homeless teens? I like this option but I'd want to not have to exit the home later to make things right.
I wish there was a cheat or mod to send a sim back to another family without loading their house, but I don't know of one. I just use manage worlds to put them back when I'm done. It only takes a few seconds.
If you don't want to mess around with sims changing households, you can take your toddler to their grandparent/babysitter's house instead, and the game won't try to send them to daycare if they're away from home when the parent leaves for work. Make sure the house is set up properly for toddlers first. The non-active sims will usually try to care for the toddler anyway, at least as well as the nanny does. You might have to have the toddler ask for things if needed. I blogged about that method here.
Same here, using Houshold Management. I move sims around a lot.
But sending the little ones over to their sitter's households sounds like fun, too. I'll try that next time :)
