I do it under origin's settings and I can still use the gallery. The origin settings will turn off for all origin games though.
Yah, I use the overlay in some other games. Plus, I find the game has better performance with the whole kit and kaboodle disabled. I don't generally use the gallery "every day" though; if I did I'd be less inclined to disable Origin In Game completely.
I did this, unclicked the box on it and on my other games while I was at it, hit save each time. Re-opened my Sims4. The gallery was there as usual, and the zoom in/zoom out and shift-tab still didn't work, only this time, shift-tab, instead of doing nothing, caused me to zoom out rapidly with a little car symbol on my cursor.
Sigh. I guess I'll move my saves file to the desktop, and do a game repair? Fingers crossed.
