It would be awesome if sims could swim while there. I converted one of the lots there into a Christmas cabin, so my sim family goes there in the winter most of the time. However, I'd love for them to have more to do there in the summer. I wish there was more for them to do. I miss axe throwing and log rolling from earlier games. I also miss having resorts. Oh well. I still love sending my sims there for vacation.

This definitely illustrates one of the major plot holes of TS4 development. Packs rarely build on previous packs, so content and worlds in earlier packs just start to feel outdated and “out of the loop.” Combined with content-light packs in general, it really starts to expose the gaps in the game...there’s not a lot of live gameplay to distract you from the gaps! ??‍♀️

This is very true. I do remember a survey last year in which they asked for which previous packs we would like to see an update. But this may only have been related to EPs. Still. I wonder what the results were and if we’ll see a change at all.

You could build a public pool disguised as a lake on one of the lots.

I think it would be great to get updates to older packs, especially if they’re going to continue to drag out the game into perpetuity. I know most are against DLC for DLC but I wouldn’t mind it if done right. Maybe something TS3 Store-esque, except it adds new experiences and whatnot. It’d be cool to get more camping activities for Outdoor Retreat or more gigs and sets for Get Famous, for general example.

One thing I like about Granite Falls is the tranquility. Nature everywhere, "alone" in the forest. A solid escape from everyday. I don't miss the possibility to swim in the river or lake, I imagine the water is quite cold anyway. I'm more hoping for a hotel pack, and if so I will turn the main forest build into a primitive hotel. There might be a pool in the basement... Hm... I can build the hotel without a hotel pack, I'd just have to pretend a lot of thing, and perhaps turning it into a self catering place. Don't think running it as a restaurant would be smart, as it would probably attract the same guests as back home.

I got pretty excited by this post because I'd love to share with you how I've managed to integrate both Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Living into a vacation/honeymoon destination for all of my sims. In Seasons, I've even made a summer vacation day that encourages traveling, fireworks, and using the fire pit in order to encourage (and remind me) to play these vacation destinations.

I have a wedding arch on a public lot (I have lilmssam's vacation wedding mod but I think the last update fixed it?) in both Selvarorado and Granite Falls as well as a Honeymoon suite for newlyweds and the occasional Love Day getaway.

I've listed each title as it is found on the gallery as well as the original creator so you can use these lots for yourself. If it says "Shown Version by: Azzera", the lot in the picture has been created/edited by me, and are also featured on the gallery. (Or just look up Azzera on the Gallery ;) )

Thank you for taking the time to look at my "vacation" worlds...(lol I'm proud and I don't know why)

I hope it helps you find some ways to keep Granite Falls and Selvadorada fresh!

I upgraded the cabins and added pools that look like ponds. Another Simmer created this A-Frame, I made some modifications:

• Riverside Retreat
  
• Forest Hideaway

In the TS2 EP Bon Voyage | Three Lakes, wow you get 13 lots: 5 community, 5 rental lots including the free campgrounds, 2 lots where you can purchase a vacation home and the secret lot. In Outdoor Retreat you get 6 lots: campground, 3 cabin lots, the national park and the hidden lot. Wow that is such a decrease.

Outdoor Retreat is like visiting a national Park. Thee Lakes was like visiting a vacation town.
This is one pack that needs an overhaul from the developers.

Oh, but you can. You can now designate an unowned property as a rental. If you can't find one either build one on a vacant lot, that you can designate a rental, or find something on the gallery suited to that island. Just a thought …
