Please, please, please tell me you won’t be “tuning down” aka nerfing the best features of this pack in a patch like a month later in an effort to appease those who only buy it for furniture and clothing, pretty pretty pleeeeeeeeeeease!
Why would they need to do that when players who don't like the haunted house can just change the lot type?
Why would they build a pack called Vampires and then tune out everything that makes vampires behave like vampires? Because, some people bought a pack entitled Vampires and then complained that vampires were in their game doing vampire things, because they only wanted the furniture and clothes. Now you literally have to force your vampire sims to behave like vampires and the pack isn’t nearly as much fun as it was at release.
Mark my words, there will be tons of complaints that the fear emotion in the base game and the key features of hauntings in haunted houses are “too intrusive” and “unrealistic”. Even though you have to intentionally set the lot type to make them happen. It will be said “I should be able to live in a haunted house without hauntings every night”, and in the base game, “it’s annoying how one sim in my house gets scared and then all my sims are running around”, and it will be tuned down in a patch to where you get a haunting in the haunted house lot type once every three in game years and then only if you force it to happen. Just like weather related deaths in Seasons. They literally gave a toggle to prevent sims from being affected by weather while still being able to have the aesthetics of all the weather, but people complained they didn’t feel they should have to use the toggle.
I am sorry to be so salty and rant but I am soooooooo tired of getting super excited for packs that finally promise to introduce some spontaneity into the game, only to have people who only want rainbows and unicorns and tediously plodding predictability overrule it. I am tired of knowing when I create a sim they’re iron clad guaranteed to die of old age unless I force the heck out of a situation to make it be otherwise. It’s uninspiring to know that if I start a storyline it will go pretty much exactly how I planned it out with virtually zero chance of any surprise at all.
