Parttime jobs and pension

I have two elders in my household who are retired from their respective careers. I want them to try out one of the parttime jobs, so they have something to do during the day. But if they do start working a parttime job, will they lose their pension?

  • I do have a suggestion to where you can find out, without messing up your game. Make a copy of your save, and then have your retired sim take a part-time job. If they still get their pension, plus their part-time income, then play the copy, if not you still have an option of going to the other save playing where they still have their retirement pension. I do this quite often when I'm not sure about something, regardless of what it is. :)
  • I'm pretty sure that any time you start a new career (any career) after having retired they lose their pension.

By my experience, they do. It's a bit of pity. My grandfather had a part-time job in retirement in addition to his pension so TS4 approach seems a bit counter-realistic.
