Patch and Base Game Update Discussion (New Patch released today 7/26)

Brd709  I'm the wrong person to ask. At this point in my life, I can't imagine trying to play without my mods. I know people do and enjoy it, but I'm so used to them, I don't think I could.

I feel the same here, it almost makes me not want to update, because this is not at all the terminology I use. I really don't understand why they changed it completely rather than adding it in as an option for those that want it. They can call it inclusive all they want, but it isn't inclusive to those like me that liked it the way it was. I do hope modders give us back the option for husband/wife and girlfriend/boyfriend.

Why break with tradition? 😄

Really wishing I hadn't updated last night. I was encouraged by how smoothly the Let's Plays seemed to run. I've learned my lesson now. I had just got back into the game too. 

Honestly, the Sims Team needs to roll back updates that cause these kind of problems. Just delay the pack until it works properly. As much as we spend on our game, it shouldn't be broken by an update.

Aside from the replacement of gender specific terms with neutral language  (I agree with many: could have been both or customizable instead ) this looks like a great patch!
Ofcourse I won't be updating until a hotfix has been released, which I hope will be soon. Actually, I'll wait until all the important mods receive an update. Possibly next week. If Lovestruck doesn't break our achy breaky hearts, I might buy that too. I want that achy snaky wallpaper, among other strange things. Ha! Snakes 'n' Heartbreaks eh? Snakes me think of that Whitesnake song. (If you like loud play it louder.)

Ah It's crocodile skin. Nevermind. I still want it. 

Delighted with the new hairstyles, especially the ponytail and the short wavy hair. I can't wait to use them in my game at some point in the near, unbroken future. 

The rounded pool tool is another very welcome update.   I've noticed that some folks have a strong desire to create swimmable liquid rockets with that - fair enough, fair enough -  Personally I want to build a wishing well. You never know who might "accidentally" fall in. 😈

It will probably be fixed with the new pack. They did something similar before where the update ran well with the pack installed.   😁

I hope so! But then I would be forced to buy the pack early.

Yikes.  I'm really glad I waited to update.  This is terrible but not too surprising tbh.

What if you have no plans to buy the pack tho... 🤔  At least not until a sale.
