So, SO happy to see all the bug fixes in this patch! I was excited for platforms, of course, since I'm a builder, but it was the bug fixes I was most looking forward to in it. It was a long, long time coming, but finally the gardening bug is fixed! At least it looks as if it is, it's only been less than a Sim week since my most recent Sim planted her plants. But I had plant problems within a few hours of planting them before, so it looks promising.
Also, the off-the-grid but NOT off-the-grid penalty for using cell phones and the bored/whiny/moaning/groaning/Ah Ha! is fixed too! I honestly felt like crying when I read that in the patch notes. :D The latter, was a big one for me, probably the biggest along with the gardening bug. I'm playing yet another test save in Evergreen Harbor with absolutely everything turned on and so far so good. Started in Port Promise in an Industrial state. It's now gone Neutral and has stayed that way for a few days now. Hallelujah!
I've seen my first sentiment too. My tester has one toward her new beau that says something about feeling closer from having great moments together. He's one of my other Sims I put in my custom template. She was dumpster diving and he walked up to her in a flirty mood and flattered her. Not surprising since I know he's got the romantic trait. One thing led to another and they're now a couple. :) I'm a little confused about how to see sentiments toward my Sim from Sims I'm not controlling. I know how my Sim feels about other Sims, but how do I know how they feel about her? Do I have to just guess? Or am I missing something?
Tried out the new platforms too, of course, nothing major, yet. I made a hearth to put underneath a fireplace in a coastal style A-Frame rental I'm building in Brindleton Bay. Looks great! There was a bit of a problem with it, the fireplace kept sinking into the platform. I'm guessing because those snap to walls. But I just used MOO to lift it up into the proper position and it's all good now. :)
From reading numerous posts here I guess I've been one of the lucky ones that didn't have any problems with the patch. I play a vanilla game on a very good gaming desktop though. Not sure if that has anything to do with it since I see others that play vanilla on good computers had problems too. Plus, I immediately did a repair after downloading the patch, but I always do that anyway. Crossing my fingers for everyone having problems that they get them sorted soon! ?
I'm going to keep playing this 'test' save for a little while, and if all goes well for Nawanee, I can FINALLY, after over 4 long months dare to play with my Drifters again! You have NO idea how happy that makes me. \o/ \o/ \o/ And, if I don't win it in a giveaway, I'll be getting the Snowy Escape EP now, some way, some how... might have to wait until Christmas, but that's okay. Might even get JTB too, we'll see.
I know I just focused on a very few things in the patch, but I'm incredibly happy for everything else that came with it too! Some of those fixes have been going on for years! o.O Anyway, Thank you so much Devs (*Hugs*) and...
Happy Simming Y'all! <3
EDIT: Unfortunately, after 7 hours of gameplay without any problems, I made the mistake of trying to use speed 3 and my game crashed, just like everyone else that's had a problem with this issue. It was a save made from my custom template save though. I've started a brand new save to test out whether that was the problem and played 3 1/2 hours last night without a crash, so we'll see... Guess my Drifters will have to wait a little longer. *sigh* It's a shame, this was the first crash I've had since getting my gaming desktop over 2 years ago.
