If you have custom content or mods,try to figure out if one of those may be causing the issue. When I had a glitch with the pets,it was some CC I just downloaded(I STILL don't know what happened to cause the sudden aging glitch for 2 of my Sims). If that doesn't work,you could try repairing your game.
