I've been experimenting with sunken furniture and I found you can place a sunken bed with platforms and it will still function!
All you have to do is just make a little 2x3 platform in the floor that's one tile lower than the rest of the room and just put your bed in! It should still be functional and creates a nice built in look. :)

I found that having one of the larger platform trims helps it to fit, if you have a smaller trim there's still gonna be exposed area at the bottom of the bed which will ruin the look. Some beds do look better than others but it looks really nice for the ones that work!
