It's a tad frustrating! I found it's easier not to use the platform tool, but rather enclose the area where I want the platform with (temporary) walls, then click the floor to bring up the UI, then raise the floor (platform), then delete those extra walls. It's super quick and hardly anything needs to be replaced.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I think I know. Um?
I was putting a platform against a wall inside a building then the wall gets demolished. So what do you mean? Build the platform one square away from the wall, enclosed it before building it in temporary walls, then what? Move one edge of that 'room' with the platform to the wall? Then demolish the temporary walls left around the platform???
