Has anyone else had issues with the bunk bed trick? I made a kids room for my sim and made a toddler bunk bed, but my toddler couldn't use the top bunk as there was a desk under it. The bed was placed on the edge of the platform and I didn't use the alt keys to raise it so it was on the platform level, and it was a pretty high platform as well. In the end I had to just leave the area under it empty as it wouldn't work if anything was underneath.
Anyways I spent a long time on this kid/toddler room with a "loft" bed and I really like how it looks so here's a few screenshots :)

I really love how you can separate the room out more with platforms, it makes it feel like both kids have their own space rather than being right next to each other. I've been enjoying build mode a lot more with these platforms, there's just so much more you can do for houses!
I may have to 'borrow' your idea. I need to separate the two boys. One just became a Child and the other is still a young Toddler. I had hoped to keep the wee one out of his big brother's stuff, but raising the platform where I intended to place his desk, just one click required stairs for him to get to said desk. Now, I'm all about tearing down yesterday's work and beginning again. I have to redo my Master Bath, too. The bottom platform makes it hard to enter the bathroom from the other door. I've already sacrificed the original shape of the room. I may just remove that door. It's the Master Bath and there is another bathroom on that floor. Why open it up to just anybody, right?
@Simmerville Does that allow you to share a room? I discovered that platforms were breaking the room up. You can click on one side (the side without platforms and it's like there's walls that separate the other portion (the side with the platforms) so that you can't share the entire room. :open_mouth: Not that my first attempts are worthy to share, but, hey, I could do something amazing at some point. It could happen …
Platforms are rooms. The only way to create them is by adding walls or fences. If you lower the platform level to ground level then the platform room merges with the rest of the room. You could try and see if possible to do something similar to how apartments are shared as rooms. Draw the outline of the platform, leave out a tile of wall, and then you will be able to share it as a room. Whoever downloads it will need to draw the missing wall tile, raise the floor, delete the platform walls, add stairs and whatever else is missing.
