Platforms are difficult!

The gamechangers made it look so easy. I can put a platform in a room but as soon as I let go of the platform tool I can't select the platform again, the whole building goes up and down on a foundati...

They are definitely glitchy (I think the patch is lagging my game which doesn't help matters) but I am having so much fun finally finishing/starting again with my Croft Manor build.
