I don't post as often as I used to, but seeing a big positive influence like Simguruninja delete his Twitter/X account over threats and abuse is beyond the pale. Seriously, anyone who posted death threats, or even threats in general, over something as simple as snow in Ravenwood is not a simmer. Noting in this game, or not in this game, is worth saying hurtful things to another person.
I just heard about this and I'm so deeply disgusted with those in this community who have sunk to this kind of bottom-barrel harassment. I had no idea there were death threats, and that just reaches a whole new level of unhinged. These people need to take a break from the internet because they have become excessively obsessed over something as minute as a simple design choice for their video game. I don't think anyone even reacted this harshly over the actual bug problems (still not okay!) from past packs. But now I'm thinking I'm probably wrong there.
This pack was getting high approval ratings and a great reception, and suddenly hearing one little detail about snow sent all of these players into a tirade of aggression. This behavior is so absolutely unacceptable, it puts a stain on the community as a whole.
To the people who engaged in this abominable behavior:
This angry mob mentality is a poison amongst the community and it's old and tired and needs to be put to rest. Guru engagement is a privilege; a choice that is made by each individual developer to take time out of their day to interact with you. They are by no means obligated to reply, respond, or answer your questions, and you have most likely just destroyed that privilege because of an inability to control yourself and act in a reasonable manner. Because of your inappropriate behavior, you have sabotaged the information train by severing the connection we had to one of the top people, (and dare I say, one of the most adored and respected) on the Sims team, who has for years enjoyed engaging with us with jokes, hints and playful banter, as well as having been one of the most receptive to constructive criticism and always willing to hear people out.
Bottom line, you failed us. If the team goes silent for a while, you absolutely deserve it, and I would fully support a stretch of silence for the team to have some peace from your obscene and overreactive poor choices.
Check yourself and do better. We're better than this.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Just read about it seconds ago and I am appalled! SimGuru Ninja?? He's is one of the most likeable guys here. I feel as though I need to apologize to him for this imbecile.😠
Just heard about it too, was only going to see if there was an update on peacemakers greenhouse doors and saw his tweet and got curious. Don't use social media or follow it even though I have an account.
It's beyond my understanding how someone can be so angry and toxic over such a thing.
I feel guilty now for being bummed out about not having snow, it's not that big of a deal. I just miss seasonal changes in general since moving to Florida from Sweden.
Welcome to the US! Florida is nice, but I think I would miss the seasons too. I'm in New England and I've come to appreciate the changes, even though I personally don't like the cold, lol. But snow makes thinks beautiful for a little while, for sure!
It's perfectly okay to be disappointed. It's okay to express that disappointment and give constructive criticism. But some people took it to a whole new level and that's what I think we as a community need to push back hard against.

Hoping that SimGuruNinja just stepped away for a while and will be back. Really thankful for the simmers here who are able to express their criticisms and constructive feedback in a civil manner.
That is such a great sentiment to share, it's only a tiny percentage of the entire community who harbors and articulates such abhorrent thoughts. Feedback is welcome and awesome when it's civil.
DaniRose2143I'm so glad you decided to stick around and be here with us and share your Sims experience. Life can be a struggle sometimes (have been having a really harsh year myself that keeps dragging me down) but when we persevere and get through the dark spots, we are stronger for it.

Criticism is a good thing, helps things to develope to better.... but, what makes huge difference is how its made.
I wouldn't consider a death threat to be very helpful at all. A critique is better, wherein the good things about the subject and the bad things about it are addressed, but most importantly, an avenue for fixing it must be included.

I don't know at all what is going on but I feel the exact same way about online bullying and all of this. I hate that this happened. It is inexcusable. I don't know enough about it to say more, and I have brain fog so that also stops me from being able to say much, but I truly hope the best for the person who experienced this. Love each other. There is too much hatred in this world. Love each other.
Shocking and inexcusable behavior for any reason, but especially over something like a game, which has brought happiness to so many people. With any pack, there might be features where we would have wanted them to make this choice or that choice, but clearly this pack was a labor of love into which the team poured their hearts. There is too much anger in the world right now. People have got to get some perspective.

It's so sad that people feel the need to behave so horribly online. I don't understand it at all. I hope the guru will be ok, and I'm thankful that the members of this part of the Sims community are not like that.
I am not on x/twitter so I had no idea about this. There is absolutely no excuse for (death) threats over a game. I don't always agree with the decisions made for the game , but I realise the people working on it generally do their best to deliver a good game. Threatening them, or even badly insulting them, is totally wrong.
